The Chesed Committee is asking for Your participation

Over the last several years, the DOS Chesed Committee has helped our members
and their families in times of mourning and during illness.
During times of mourning, we can assist in setting up the house for shiva
as well as send a dairy platter (for ten people) to the home ((within a five mile radius)
when the bereaved family returns from the cemetery.

Our committee has been large, but the number of people willing and able to help has been dwindling.
It is falling to the same handful of people to continue this very important outreach and mitzvah.
With that in mind, we will invite all interested members of DOS to an open meeting
to discuss how best to encourage our members to participate
in the work of the Chesed Committee. Or, failing that,
we must decide what work we could continue with limited assistance, and what we should give up.

The following activities will involve:
.  Home, hospital or nursing home visits.
.  Assistance with shopping where medically necessary.
  .  Driving to doctors appointments.
.  On a weekly basis, calling those who are housebound.

Our Shul cares and we will do our best to assist those in need.
but we need YOU to join the CHESED COMMITTEE.

L'Shalom,
